This month, we want to know: If you were to give a nursing student one piece of advice, what would it be?

“Nursing is not about how much you know, it’s about how much you care.” One of my teachers was 76 years old and she had been a nurse for over 50 years. She had lots of great advice and stories but this particular pearl of wisdom stuck with me and it is the single greatest piece of advice I could pass on to another student.
“keep your heart pure and your mind focused” sometimes, all you go through and do as a nurse just doesn’t seem worth it, but it is.
Best advise I could give nursing students is to make sure your hands are warm before touching patients. 😉
