Today marks the 43rd anniversary of Earth Day– a holiday to reflect on ways to lessen our carbon footprint. There are many small changes you can make to help the environment, most are very easy:
- Instead of plastic bags to hold your groceries, grab a couple of reusable tote bags to carry your goods. Check out Prestige Medical’s Large Canvas Bag– it comes in several fun designs and is perfect to take on those shopping trips.
- Pack your lunch for a week. Many restaurants often use Styrofoam containers for take-out. This material is usually non-biodegradable, which in turn creates a lot of environmental waste. Use washable plastic containers for your food and store everything in a lunch bag like this one. You’ll be saving money and the environment too!
- Go green with your scrubs! Look for recycled and eco-friendly fabrics. IguanaMed’s Green Line uses a combination of bamboo and cotton fabric for their apparel. I’d recommend their comfy V-Neck 2-Pocket Top and Trugreen Boot Cut Pants as great “green” options to add to your closet.
